Standards

The Standards Module is currently only available to Professional and Enterprise Tiers. Please contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM) to discuss, if needed.

The Standards module is a Live Reporting module that displays information related to different Standards being tracked in The Guard. A Standard is the set of guidelines, criteria, or rules that Organizations or individuals must adhere to in order to meet certain regulatory requirements or industry best practices. A Standard is HIPAA, OSHA, SOC 2, etc

The Standards module will display Tiles related to the different standards and related Programs. For example, HIPAA contains the Privacy, Breach, Physical Safeguards, and Data Security programs; SOC2 contains the Data Security program. If an Organization is tracking both standards, then the Organization only needs 1 Data Security Program, but the completed aspects of this program will reflect for both HIPAA and SOC2.

To view the Standards, simply navigate to the Standards module. Each tile will be displayed and identified separately, as well as provide a summary of relevant programs. Selecting View will display more information related to the Standard and Associated Programs.

When viewing a Standard, The Guard will present a few graphs at the top, as well as a full breakdown of the Standard with respect to its Associated Controls and Standard Codes.

Graphs

The graphs displayed will show: Total Completion Metrics, Program Progress, and Critical Controls Progress

  • Total Completion Metrics – This graph displays the Total Number of Controls across ALL Programs for the Standard and displays metrics for Met and Not Met Controls

  • Program Progress – Displays the percentage of completion for each associated Program

  • Critical Controls – Displays the total number and completion of Critical Controls

    • Critical Controls are identified by a STAR next to the name of the Control

Breakdown

The table located below the graphs will display all of the Standards’ Groups of Controls and Standard Codes and their current status, as well as Last Updated Date and Evidence, if attached. A Team member may then select each individual Standard Code to display additional details regarding the Related Controls and information.

The Standards module does not allow editing the Control information. Any changes to the Associated Controls (Status, Evidence, Tags, etc) must be done in the Programs module.
